BYOD Challenges Risks and Opportunities Addressed by ETMA MobileCON Panel

Join ETMA, Wednesday October 16 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at MobileCON in the San Jose Convention Center in Rooms 211 A/B for an expert panel discussion on “How providers and channel partners can add value when enterprises address the challenges and opportunities of BYOD?”

October 14, 2013 — The Telecom Expense Management Industry Association, ETMA, an authoritative voice for the Telecommunications Management, Telecom Expense Management (TEM), Wireless Expense Management (WEM), Mobile Device Management (MDM) markets and Solutions Providers in related areas will host a Thought Leadership Panel at MobileCON 2013™ which is powered by CTIA on October 17 in San Jose, California.
ETMA will open the second day of its two day meeting with an invitation to all managers and executives that are attending the MobileCON 2013 conference. The Thought Leadership Panel discussion will examine the question: “How providers and channel partners can add value when enterprises address the challenges and opportunities of BYOD?: It will be Wednesday, October 16 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM in Rooms 211 A/B at the San Jose Convention Center.
Jeff Poirior, President and COO, of Valicom Corporation, said, “Our experience has shown that assisting clients with managing mobile inventory and associated expenses, whether they opt to proceed with BYOD or not, is a growing market opportunity.” He added, “Having the ability to adapt to specific client needs is paramount since there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach. Leveraging expertise and analysis to better control budgets and risk is not going away. It’s just evolving as the market adapts to this new reality. The channel needs to grasp that and work together to deliver a seamless management solution.”
Christopher Thierry, President of ETeleSolv, said, “BYOD is important in the world of IT and Telecom Cost management. Although many of the cost benefits to the organization will come from transferring a portion of the costs to employees, companies still have to manage which devices carry the cost of supporting a MDM and allocating these costs.” Thierry added, “More than ever, this enforces the point of transparency within an organization right down to each individual end user. I look forward to discussing this ever changing environment and discussing different solutions with my peers.”
The panel will discuss a number of thought provoking issues including…
• Are TEM, WEM and Managed Mobility Services (MMS) still relevant?
• How can enterprises deal with IT Asset Management and security risks?
• What are the most neglected areas that enterprises need to address with BYOD?
Joe Basili, Managing Director for ETMA said, “ETMA panelists are well positioned to address best practices, performance metrics, open industry standards, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Member companies are able to draw on experiences in managing over $61 billion in telecom expenses on behalf of clients.”
The expert panel will feature
• Julie Palen, Sr. Vice President, Tangoe, Inc.
• Jeff Poirior, President & COO, Valicom Corp
• Erik M. Eames, CEO, Wireless Analytics
• Ralph A. Rodriguez, Chairman and CEO New Technologies and Associates
• Christopher Thierry, President, ETeleSolv
